Overview

The Financial Analyst will be part of the Financial Planning & Analysis Department which is responsible for the effective and efficient reporting of high quality Actual, Forecast & Budget Management Information at Divisional level that will form the base for the driving of the business towards its Operational and Strategic Goals including financial, non-financial, commercial and operational aspects.
Additionally, the Financial Analyst will support the Packaging Head Office Controller in driving the Head Office’s legal entity. This will involve, in close cooperation with the Shared Service Centre, performing general accounting and reporting activities in accordance with Group Accounting Policies and requirements. Prepare monthly and yearly closing. Drive the forecast and budget process. Identify improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness within the role.
This role will be based in our office in Diegem, Belgium.

Main responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following

Financial Reporting & Analysis
Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.
Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Develop an understanding of the input cost mechanics, including monitoring and understanding the impact of changes in variables on division performance.
Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and decisions to be made.
Participate in projects as required. Forecasting/Budgeting Participate in the coordination, development and analysis of Forecast, Budget and Corporate Plan ensuring a robust process is in place that delivers quality data on a timely basis. People Partner with the regional finance teams, as well as Group FP&A ensuring an effective collaboration and open communication is in place. Head Office Accounting Activities
Work with the Shared Service Centre and Head Office Controller, in order to:
Perform accurate and timely monthly and yearly closing
Understand the processing of standard and non-standard journals
Setting up recurring and reversing/accrual journals
Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled on a timely basis
Analyse and resolve any un-reconcilable items on a timely basis
Ensure activities are completed on timely basis to meet reporting deadlines
Ensure internal controls, policies and procedures are followed and respected

What we would like our candidate to have

Education & Certifications
Accounting qualification or Master’s Degree in Finance/Economics
First work experience recommended ( a Financial Analysis or Accounting Analyst role) Technical Requirements
Good accounting skills & knowledge (IFRS)
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications (SAP) Experience, Skills and Behaviours
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
Strong interpersonal skill and customer relationship skills
