SGS Life Science Services carries out all type of services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, from coordination and running of clinical trials with new molecules or techniques on human beings, to support and consultancy on post marketing registration activities. SGS Life Science Services has also expertise in the quality control of pharmaceuticals.

At our Clinical Pharmacology Unit, located at University Hospital Antwerp, we are currently looking for a Team Leader Clinical Trial Nurses.

Job Description

You will work in a multidisciplinary clinical trial team of medical, pharmacy, trial management and business staff, with a close link into operational teams (investigators, project manager, laboratory technician, pharmacist, recruitment officers and administrative staff).

In the role of Team Leader Clinical Trial Nurses, you are responsible for managing all nursing staff and providing operational direction. Your job consists of 3 big areas:

1. First and foremost – managing the team:

You are in charge of recruitment, onboarding and day-to-day management of the nursing staff;
You monitor the qualification and training needs of every individual and the team as one unit;
You ensure resourcing for the client’s projects and manage the timelines and budgets that come with it.

2. Second – being the operational back-up:

You are responsible for overseeing the data capture in a study;
You keep both feet on the ground and remain the “back-up Clinical Trial Nurse” if necessary, of course you will still stay the team leader and you will then lead the team ‘from within’.

3. Last, but not least – being a quality insurer

Quality is the first and the last thing on your mind, every single day;
You implement necessary measures to guarantee a safe conduct of studies, excellent quality of data and a safe confidentiality of information;
You keep up with the applicable quality standards and ensure adherence to standard operation procedures.

Qualifications

You have obtained a Nursing degree (bachelor, master). Preferably you have 3-5 years of experience in Clinical Research;
It’s a big plus if you already have proven management skills. Think about a previous supervisory experience in a multi-disciplinary environment;
You love to communicate with a team on an interpersonal, verbal and written level;
Customer is king, also at SGS. You have mature customer management skills and are willing to use them;
You love being in charge and you have a high sense of accountability. Your organization skills are unparalleled;
You are not a quitter. For every problem, you will find a solution. You have a decisive attitude and will never give up on your team.
