The EMEA Business Technology Leader position requires a leader who can combine Information Technology (IT) expertise with knowledge of the healthcare environment to lead groundbreaking change and accelerate business value.
The role requires active engagement and partnership with the Surgical Vision Leadership to craft new business model offerings while driving IT enablement of the business. The incumbent must build strong collaborative partnerships with business leaders across the business and J&J Technology.
A successful candidate will be able to think strategically as they explore various business problems, define the value propositions, and experiment with users to build the right product.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinating, defining and executing a Technology Strategy for Surgical Vision in Commercial (e.g. marketing, sales, eCommerce, analytics).
  • Governance and prioritisation of the investment processes, and management of Commercial technology budget.
  • Act as owner of strategic and financial portfolio.
  • Track business value realisation, with a strong focus on measuring outcomes.
  • Be a change agent that drives digital transformation.
  • Measure on business indicators that show progress towards outcomes.
  • Work closely with Technology Solution Leads, Business Product Owners, business partners, Enterprise Architects, and Product Lines to deliver capabilities that produce business outcomes.
  • Understand competitive landscape and how competitors use technology.
  • Align with Business Partners to explore problems that drive value.
  • Pull in appropriate SMEs, Architecture, and Security counterparts to craft initiatives.
  • Test concepts through experimentation before the solution is built.
  • Act as Agile, Lean UX mentor leading the implementation of agile, lean startup and design thinking principles for the organisation.
  • Identifies new capabilities to enable effective and efficient Commercial processes by continuously exploring the external marketplace for technologies, ideas and practices.

  • Able to lead by influence.
  • A University Degree is required, master’s degree is preferred.
  • 9 years of professional experience is required.
  • At least 3 years in a similar role as a manager and as a people manager.
  • A minimum of 3 years running a technology investment portfolio of $3M annually or more.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) is required.
  • Ability to explain digital concepts to senior business partners, as well as business concepts to technologists is required.
  • Demonstrate ability in partnering with partners to generate mutually helpful, long-term opportunities and negotiating outcomes is preferred.
  • Experience applying lean startup and design thinking principles is required.
  • Experience driving business outcomes through technology and data is required.
  • Validated experience in examining issues, crafting strategy and influencing effectively across a complex organisation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve organisational performance through the application of original thinking to existing and emerging methods, processes, products and services is preferred.
  • Employs good judgement in figuring out how innovations will be deployed to produce business outcomes is preferred.
  • This position is preferably located in Dublin, Ireland. Other locations in Europe can be considered. Role may require up to 25% Travel (national & international).
