Software Engineer Risk Management & Reporting

You're joining a team of about 70 energetic professionals. With a great sense of humour, but a serious approach to your work you'll fit right in. Together we support the Data Quality Management, Group Risk, Group Treasury and Group Finance departments for the entire KBC Group, including the entities outside Belgium, adding an interesting international dimension to the job.

The applications we keep running are used to manage financial risks and provide internal and external reports on the subject. This helps regulators to keep an eye on bank activities and ensure we meet legal requirements without taking any irresponsible financial risks ... After all, we don't want a repeat of what you know who (certain American banks) did you know where (the USA in the 80s).

The team is spread across offices in Ghent, Brussels and Leuven: you're welcome to choose the location where you'll work. As a single team, you collaborate with colleagues in IT and the business side of the bank. Communication lines are kept short to enable strong forward propulsion and quick progress. We develop, evaluate and make adjustments in short sprints: the very definition of agile.

• You perform technical analyses of any changes or upgrades.
• You produce technical designs of the highest quality.
• You follow up release processes to make sure they run according to guidelines.
• You make sure functional analysts have all the technical support they need.
• You test and debug to make programs run the way they should.
• You check to make sure data loads and calculations run correctly and punctually, in production and in acceptance.
• You use your technical expertise to solve technical issues.
