The Opportunity

The mission of CZI Science is to support science and technology that will help make it possible to cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of the century.  To help achieve this mission The Imaging Program aims to give researchers everywhere the tools to visualize and quantify the biological processes underlying health and disease.  We’re supporting scientists worldwide who operate imaging facilities, which serve as hubs of imaging expertise for local communities of biomedical researchers, and we’re creating community and building capacity through organizations like Global BioImaging and BioImaging North America.  We fund and build image analysis tools like napari, an interactive, multi-dimensional image viewer for Python, and fund Imaging Software Fellows. We’re also pushing the frontiers of imaging by supporting technology development, including ultrasound, MRI, photoacoustic, optical, X-ray, and quantum imaging, that will allow researchers to better understand and cure disease. We are now preparing to launch an advanced imaging institute to push forward revolutionary new imaging technologies through high-risk, high-reward projects.

The Imaging Program is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing project management systems and processes for teams working at the intersection of multidisciplinary teams. You will be working closely with both internal staff across the organization and external grantees and partners, monitoring project timelines and deliverables, identifying bottlenecks and working creatively with  team members to implement solutions. You will

Develop project management tools and track objectives, activities, and outcomes for the development of the new Imaging Institute.

Develop an organized pipeline for managing the Imaging  grant opportunities portfolio, including tracking opportunities from the initial contact/exploratory phase through the scoping and diligence processes.

Strong organizational and project management skills. We use a variety of systems for our project work including Slack, Airtable, Salesforce, Asana, Pardot, WordPress. Facility with these systems/tools and ability to learn new systems and take the lead in introducing these systems and tools to our teams.

Attention to detail and deadlines. You will play a critical role in keeping the work of our Program teams on track and schedule.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be working with two teams and will play a critical role in organizing our work and keeping us connected, so strong communication skills are a must. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multifunctional team. You are great at juggling multiple tasks and deadlines and can self-organize your own work and time.
