Doximity's Core Stack team is hiring a Senior Project Manager. We're looking for candidates who live within at least 4 hours overlapping with Pacific time.

The Core Stack is a cross-functional team – small and mighty – composed of about 12 individuals focused on building foundational technical solutions and products leveraged internally and externally. A few notable examples of the Core Stack team's responsibilities are Authentication, GraphQL Federation, Analytics, A/B Testing, and Asynchronous communication services.

About the Job

As a Senior Project Manager, you will own communications with internal stakeholders both in a supporting role for the foundational services, as well as spearheading new services. You will report directly to the Core Stack team's Lead.

What you must embody to be successful at this job

Attention to detail: Sweating the small stuff is your default modus operandi. You must have an inexcusable impatience for crossing the T's and dotting the I's. That nagging itch you feel until the details are just right, you know that feeling.

Follow-through: The king of follow-through. That's you, nothing falls through the cracks. You have an elegant personal system that fills in the gaps of our faulty human brain. Others are typically baffled that you never miss a beat.

Communication: Clear, concise, kind communication is all you do. You'll be interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders, from Support, Sales, Customers, to Product, and Engineering. A "no surprises" style of communication is the only way forward.

Proactiveness: You challenge the "if it ain't broken don't fix it" mentality while maintaining a superb level of pragmatism. If you see grunt, inefficient work, your mind immediately machinates ways to simplify, automate, and replace error-prone elements with effective systems.

* **Outcome Focused Leadership: **You ensure that the team’s projects align with the business's needs. You are comfortable asking poignant questions to ensure that the challenges we take on are properly vetted, scoped, and all KPIs for success and stakeholders are identified as thoroughly as possible.

What this role does NOT require

  • Experience with product design particularly, customer-facing products. The Core Stack focuses mostly on foundational services. Occasionally you'll partner with other Senior Product Owners within the organization and work together to devise a successful product.

  • Technical Expertise you'll work alongside talented Senior and Staff level engineers who will own all aspects of the technical implementation. It'll be your responsibility to understand the problem – and its relation to our business and product processes – but not to devise a solution.

Here are some things we’ve worked on recently to give you a sense of what you’ll be doing day-to-day.

  • We've recently started a project aimed at increasing the reliability of our Analytics frameworks and pipelines.
  • As part of a multi-quarter initiative, we're rolling out GraphQL Federation. This involved identifying stakeholders in our various teams including; QA, Mobile, SRE, Security, Infrastructure, Development, and Platform teams.
  • Adding support in our Kafka messaging system to allow teams to more easily and independently produce valid events.
  • We have increased the resiliency and ease of integration for our Authentication system to handle our increasing engagement and products.
  • We are improving the way in which we act proactively around our cross-team dependency management as well as devised a system to automate the manual and error-prone part of the work.
  • We've mostly concluded a migration to new project management too.
  • We have a very popular and feature-rich internal wiki and we've recently introduced a new Guides feature. You'd spearhead the further improvement of such internal features.
  • We've worked with internal and external stakeholders to design a single sign-on adapter.
