Within Technology & Product Studio (TPS), we build and manage the technological foundations that support our digital products and organization. We operate in a complex and challenging environment, working with AWS, Azure, GCP, and private cloud platforms.

To ensure our cloud environment is not only technically strong but also financially sustainable and transparent, we are strengthening our team with a Senior FinOps Specialist. You will have the opportunity to further shape FinOps within Mediahuis and work at the intersection of cloud technology, finance, and business.

This is not a traditional finance role, nor is it a purely technical cloud position. You bring both worlds together and help teams gain insight into their cloud usage, take ownership, and make better decisions.

As a Senior FinOps Specialist, you help Mediahuis maximize the value of its cloud investments. You create transparency around cloud costs, translate data into actionable insights, and work together with technical and financial stakeholders to continuously optimize our cloud environment. You will be involved in:

• Cost visibility & showback: making cloud costs transparent for teams and stakeholders and further developing clear showback models.
• Tagging & governance: defining and maintaining standards for tagging, ownership, and cost allocation.
• Forecasting & budgeting: helping predict future cloud costs and supporting teams with budgeting and financial planning.
• Cloud cost optimization: analyzing the use of AWS, Azure, GCP, and our private cloud environment and identifying concrete optimization opportunities.
• Reporting & insights: translating complex cloud data into clear dashboards, analyses, and recommendations.
• Stakeholder management: working closely with engineering, platform, finance, and management teams.
• FinOps culture: helping further embed FinOps within Mediahuis and encouraging teams to take ownership of their cloud usage and costs.

A typical week: One day, you're analyzing cloud spend and discussing optimization opportunities with engineers. The next, you're working with Finance on forecasts or discussing with platform teams how tagging and cost allocation can be improved. You'll also continue to develop reporting capabilities and support stakeholders in interpreting their cloud costs.

You're not just the person reporting what the cloud costs. You help the organization understand why certain costs are incurred, what value they create, and where opportunities exist to work more efficiently.

What makes you a great fit?

• A bachelor's or master's degree, for example in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud governance, cloud engineering, or cloud financial management.
• Good knowledge of at least one major public cloud platform, preferably AWS and/or Azure. Experience with GCP is a plus.
• Experience with topics such as cost allocation, tagging, showback/chargeback, forecasting, budgeting, and cloud optimization.
• Sufficient technical affinity to collaborate effectively with engineers and cloud/platform teams.
• An analytical mindset, with the ability to translate large amounts of data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to bring technical and financial stakeholders together.
• A pragmatic and proactive approach: you don't just identify problems, you help realize solutions.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Experience with FinOps frameworks or a FinOps Certified Practitioner certification is a strong asset.
