For the Gas Flow Operations department at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a SCADA Agent (m/f/x).
 

The Gas Flow Operations department is responsible for the real-time management of gas flows within Belgium. It consists of the Operations Centre (the control room) and the support teams. This is Fluxys' nerve centre: our customers' transmission requests are processed here in real time and the facilities are remotely controlled to meet these requests while also playing a monitoring role. To this end, numerous IT tools are needed and must be regularly upgraded to keep pace with changes in our transmission system and service offering.

Take part in the safety of Fluxys’ installations by ensuring the quality of monitoring images and the optimization of IT tools.

Your respon­sibilities

• You are responsible for the preparation, adaptation and creation of dynamic images and reports for the SCADA system, in close cooperation with the Operations Support and Daily Operations cells, as well as with the ICT Operations - Realtime department
• Together with your colleagues in the SCADA cell, you will optimise the programme and make proposals to the IT department for improvements as well as actively participate in SCADA upgrades
• You act as an interface between the IT department and Daily Operations by monitoring the performance of the application, keeping the "status report" up to date and following up on maintenance periods)
• You will manage the update of existing images according to the adaptations made by other departments and the provision of images to Daily Operations according to the progress of the work
• You will participate in the creation and maintenance of Excel/Access/VBA applications, allowing the monitoring of parameters and a better interface between the SCADA and other softwares
• You will eventually take part in the preparation of works (planned interventions, scrapings, etc.) in collaboration with the zones and the Projects & Constructions department

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor’s degree with a technical orientation
• A broad technical background and good learning skills to cope with a reactive and demanding environment
• Possibly a first experience in a SCADA system
• Rigour, structure and precision in your work
• A good team spirit with the ability to work independently
• A good knowledge of computer systems and mastery of the Office 365 suite ideally combined with knowledge of VBA and SQL
• A good command of French or Dutch and a good knowledge of the other language. Understanding of English is essential for the use of IT systems
