II. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
The Regional Sales Representative is responsible for container sales and trading within the assigned territory and with assigned customers. This role will workorking towards the achievement of price, volume and inventory, and turn goals within the assigned sales territory. The Regional Sales Representative is responsible for planned development of business and building of relationships with existing assigned customers, and prospecting for new customers within the existing sales territory, as well as targeted new geographical markets. In this role, there is potential to expand and grow responsibilities in container sales and leasing.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
  • Manage assigned customer relationships with the aim of positioning TCS as the preferred supplier with “last look” at each of our customers container purchasing needs.
  • Know the potential with every customer and work out how we best fulfill it. Working closely with the Regional Sales Director, devise, agree and execute simple plans for each customer, on how to increase market share and develop business in line with overall price/volume objectives.
  • Prospect and develop opportunities for new business in targeted new geographical markets.
  • Prospect and develop new customer accounts to purchase containers and /or help us to move containers to higher net value locations.
  • Regular travel throughout assigned region and high frequency communication with existing customers, and colleagues as necessary,.
  • Work with regional team members to ensure we are making it easy for our customers to buy containers from TCS and our customer service delivery meets the needs of our customers.
  • Maintain customer profiles and pricing, as well as inventory profiles within the TCS Portal
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for us to improve net sales values through development of gate sale , consignment and depot agreements.
  • Coordinate with other areas and TCS Product Team to push out or pull in sale inventory on one ways as appropriate.
  • Spend time in our depots to develop a good understanding of the products we are selling and how we service our customers through depot operations.
  • Collect market intelligence and disseminate internally, including competitor inventory and actions, and factors affecting market supply and demand within the assigned territory.
  • Pursue opportunities to develop and expand trading activity in all TCS products including specials and reefers. Establish "buy/sell" relationships in defined territory and build pipeline of successful transactions particularly at times when we are unable to meet customers demand from existing Triton International inventory.
  • Ensure necessary credit approval is obtained where appropriate and ensure customer payment performance is within credit terms.
  • Build a close working relationship and exchange of information with CSR Team to ensure communications with customers are kept to a high standard and that there is adequate coverage when away from the office.
  • Understanding and adherence to Triton International policies at all times.
  • Other responsibilities and projects which may arise.
IV. REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in servicing and building relationships with customers.
  • Knowledge of the container shipping industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • High energy and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English, French, German or Dutch.
  • Strong decision making and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse cultures and ability to liaise with colleagues globally.
  • Ability to build strong customer and vendor relations.
  • Ability to physically inspect containers as required.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area on a weekly basis and/or as required
