Do you have a chemical background and would you like to use your skills in the world of raw materials ? Then we might have a unique opportunity for you !

Main responsibilities and key tasks

As a chemical specialist you will provide technical support and knowledge in the field of our raw materials. This as well in the purchasing process as in the development & operations process towards our three divisions, Fibres, Yarns and Technical Textiles. This includes the following key tasks:
* You define the right raw materials for today and the future needs of the divisions.
* You work closely together with our R&D departments, for follow up on color developments, development of functionalities, internal & external analysis and durability tests.
* You build up internal & external network for raw material characterization.
* In close collaboration with our procurement and quality departments, you source materials (color mono’s, additives and tailor made masterbatch) and follow up on their performance, in relation to compliance needs, specifications & technical capabilities.
* You are responsible for our compliance management, such as declarations in relation to Reach, Okotex, FDA,...
* A team of 4 lab technicians and engineers will report to you. You report directly to the Operational Excellence Director of the BU Engineered Products.

Profil

Competencies and skills
* You hold a master degree (Chemical) with a major in Polymers
* You have a first succesfull experience in leading a small team
* You have a no nonsense approach
* You are proactive, pragmatic and good at problem solving 
* You are a good cooperator and can also take the lead in projects


Languages
You speak, write and understand fluently Dutch, English and French.
