SGS Life Sciences carries out all type of services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, from coordination and running of clinical trials with new molecules or techniques on human beings, to support and consultancy on post marketing registration activities. SGS Life Sciences has also expertise in the quality control of pharmaceuticals.

In the spirit of continued growth and to help improve our business, we are currently seeking for a Proposal Analyst. 

Job Description

The main responsibility of the Proposal Analyst is to develop and coordinate budget proposals for our clients in response to Request for Proposals (RFP) and Change in Scope (CIS) requests, both upon request of the SGS Clinical Research Business Development Managers (BDM) and the operational teams. A Proposal Analyst will work with these teams in order to collect and process all necessary input for the development of our budget proposals while respecting deadlines and combining multiple simultaneous projects. This is a detail-driven role and as such any successful candidate will bring a seasoned eye for detail and commitment to compliance with SGS Clinical Research processes and guidelines for budget development.

You will interact with and be supported by a team of professionals dedicated to budget and proposal development, consisting of other Proposal Analysts, Proposal Managers, RFI Coordinator, etc. You will report to the Head of Proposal Development.

Your responsibilities

  • You act as the lead for assigned budget requests, in response to RFP and CIS requests
  • You identify the client’s requirements and you interact with business development and the operational teams to obtain input for your budgets
  • You set up budgets (ballparks, detailed budgets, client-specific bid grids) for our various clinical conduct services, including our early phase clinical sites (for healthy volunteers and also early phase patient studies), biometrics activities and clinical operations.
  • You establish and adhere to timelines for completion of deliverables in cooperation with the sales team and/or the operational teams
  • You ensure clear and open communication towards upper management, the sales team and the applicable operational team members (and occasionally our clients)
  • You review, verify and evaluate cost estimates to ensure agreement with written information, client specifications and internal assumptions, including also the correction of budget discrepancies
  • You conduct quality control measures to ensure the final budget meets the company and departmental standards
  • You interact with the other Proposal Development team members to ensure alignment on processes, transfer and sharing of expertise and knowledge, and to develop the department’s improvement projects

Qualifications

What do you need to be successful? 

  • Minimum of a bachelor or master in life/biomedical/pharmaceutical sciences. Please notice that other bachelor/master disciplines will also be considered, especially those with scientific orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook
  • General understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed oriented, critical thinking, problem solving
  • Able to coordinate several activities / projects simultaneously
  • Resistant to stress and work pressure
  • Able to interact with all levels of management, colleagues and clients
  • Able to work independently but also a strong team player
  • Customer oriented

Added values on your profile:

  • Experience in the Clinical Research industry and an  understanding of clinical trial protocols for early phase trials is a big plus.
  • Experience in developing and / or managing comprehensive proposals, preferably in the CRO / pharmaceutical industry
