## ## What we’re looking for

After raising a seed round from some fantastic investors we’re now looking for the people who will form our founding Design team. This is an incredible opportunity to join a business at one of the most exciting times - going from nothing to something.

Working closely with the founders you will play a key role in designing and building the first version of the product and getting it in the hands of early customers. We’re building a technically complex product where great design is just as important as making the right technical decisions. By joining this early you will be laying the foundations for design and shaping the product experience.

## ## What you'll do

Although there are still a million decisions to make both big and small, if you join us you will almost definitely be doing some of the following.

  • Running research sessions to deeply understand our customers and define our product
  • Shaping the product from the high level proposition right down to the finer details
  • Creating sketches and prototypes to explore concepts
  • Distilling complex technical challenges into user experiences that feel intuitive and natural
  • Defining the early stages of our visual language and design system
  • Helping to build excellent user interfaces (we are looking for designers with some web development knowledge)
  • Documenting and communicating your ideas and process with the whole team Shaping our design team culture

 

## ## How you’ll do it

We are building a team that prides itself on these things.

  • 🚤  Can ship fast. At this early stage of product development we will inevitably make a lot of changes to how things work and so we are comfortable with things being “good enough” until they are proven.
  • ✍🏼  Understand the values of words. Sometimes a written document or flowchart can be worth a thousand Figma artboards and we regularly use these tools to communicate our ideas.
  • 🤝  Gives clear and direct feedback. One of our core values is to help each other out and the best way we can do that is by being honest with each other. So when we’re pairing, sketching concepts, or discussing ideas we always are forthcoming with our feedback.
  • ❓ Embraces ambiguity. There is still so much to work out, both technically and organisationally, but we don’t let that hold us back. We fill in the gaps, use our intuition and do the best we can with the information we have.
  • 🥳  Has fun. We may be building a serious business but we have fun while doing it. Fun doesn’t mean easy though, and we have the most fun when we’re tackling the really hard problems.
