About the Role


Europe is a key region for WorldRemit and a major contributor to the group revenue. Currently, we offer our services to customers in the European Economic Area through our licensed entity in Belgium, WorldRemit Belgium SA/NV. Given that WorldRemit services operate from a centralised platform and our core operating functions are not based in Belgium, we are hiring an Outsourcing Manager for WorldRemit Belgium to manage all aspects of outsourced services.

The Outsourcing Manager role will be based in Brussels and report to the Country Manager Europe, for day-to-day operations and with a dotted line to the Director of Payments.

This is an exciting opportunity to design a brand-new function and put in place outsourcing and contract management best practices. In order to be successful in this role, it is critical that you work closely with our Operations, Customer Service, IT, Finance, Risk, Compliance and other teams. We are truly a cross-functional organisation and work collaboratively across the board.


Who we're searching for...

As Outsourcing Manager, you'll:

  • WorldRemit Belgium SA/NV is a Payment Institution falling under the supervision of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB). As such, the company must abide by various NBB Circulars and Guidelines issued by the European Banking Authority (EBA) in the field of outsourcing (and others), among which Circular NBB_2019_19 on outsourcing and Circular NBB_2018_20 on outsourcing to cloud service providers.
  • Secure compliance with EBA guidelines in the field of outsourcing (and others) for all WorldRemit entities globally dealing with outsourcing contracts and vendors.
  • Implement EBA guidelines in the field of outsourcing by creating an Outsourcing Policy.
  • Perform end to end performance monitoring of the outsourcing contracts by building a repository of such contracts, maintain relationship with vendors involved in outsourcing contracts (contracts negotiations, renewal or termination, helping business SMEs in building proper SLAs/KPIs into the outsourcing agreements)
  • The Outsourcing Manager is therefore a "first line" function (i.e. a business function) in charge of setting up the framework and first line controls on all outsourcings of WorldRemit Belgium SA/NV. The Outsourcing Manager will also be in charge of general contract management (for those contracts that do not fall under the definition of "outsourcing").
  • Assisted by the Compliance team as regards the exact content of these obligations, the Outsourcing Manager ensures that WorldRemit fulfils and exceeds its regulatory obligations related to outsourcing on a timely basis.
  • The role also includes: assisting in the drafting/updating in a timely manner of outsourcing arrangements (as part of a team including Legal Counsel, Procurement and Compliance); drafting SLAs and KPIs in collaboration with outsourcing partners for the performance of these outsourcing agreements and general contracts, follow up on a permanent basis on the performance of these SALs/KPIs (dashboard maintenance), acting as secretary (schedule meetings, draft the agenda and the minutes) of the Outsourcing bodies/meetings/committees of WorldRemit Belgium SA/NV, escalating outsourcing concerns (e.g. re performance, non-compliance with SLAs and KPIs) to the relevant levels according the Outsourcing Policy, creating and maintaining the Outsourcing Register of WorldRemit Belgium SA/NV (in collaboration with relevant teams within WorldRemit), ensuring the application of the Outsourcing Policy and various procedures, assisting in the updating of the Outsourcing Policy, drafting the Outsourcing Report that must be submitted to NBB, act as first point of contact for the NBB as regards Outsourcing concerns (in liaison with Compliance and other teams), implement and enforce company policies.

Have you got what it takes?

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in compliance, controls or operational risk.
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholder groups at different levels and within different areas of the business.
  • Understanding of IT environment is a plus (cloud infrastructure, architecture, data management)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking skills, effective interpersonal skills, strong formal presentation abilities
  • Experience in drafting/managing SLAs and KPIs and general contract management
  • Individual must be a self-starter and ambitious to develop in a fast-moving firm-wide function that is forward-looking and Service Delivery oriented.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work remotely and effectively collaborate with colleagues in other countries and time zones
  • European Fintech or Payments industry experience desirable
  • Ability to recognize, react and adjust to rapidly changing conditions and to lead the resources in appropriate direction with cohesiveness and a sense of urgency
