Mechanical Team Leader Compression Plant

For our compressor station of Weelde (see the map here) we’re looking for a Mechanic Technician (m/f/x).
 

At a compressor station, the pressure of natural gas is increased to maintain the desired flow rate in the pipeline. The gas is compressed to ensure that it has enough energy to continue on its way to end consumers under the best possible conditions. Our compressor station in Weelde is active on the two 'Dorsales' (DN 900) that transmit low-calorific natural gas from the Dutch border (Poppel) to the French border (Blaregnies).

• After a period of thorough training, during which you will learn about the processes at the compressor station, you will join the local team and actively work on safety
• Following your induction period you will be responsible for the Mechanics Department
• You will be responsible for the mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance of the facility, which means you will prepare the maintenance schedule, prepare the budget, ensure implementation, and follow up and make adjustments if necessary. You will do all this in close consultation with the other maintenance disciplines and of course in accordance with production and safety guidelines
• You will be involved in implementing modifications to existing equipment
• You will be closely involved in all plant expansions, from the study phase to operations
• You will be part of the on-call system. While on-call, you will resolve any electrical and mechanical faults in the plant
• You will be supervised by the Plant Manager

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A degree in a mechanical or electromechanical field or an equivalent experience
• At least five years of experience in a maintenance department at a technical facility
• Experience in mechanics, knowledge of process equipment and a basic understanding of instrumentation and automation
• A drive to perform meticulous work, a healthy inquisitiveness and sufficient diplomacy and dynamism
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as well in a team as independently
• A fluency in Dutch and a satisfactory knowledge of French. Knowledge of technical English would be a plus
• Adequate knowledge of MS Office and SAP
