KBC Operational Risk Manager

Effective operational risk management can be quite a challenge for a large international financial institution like ours. Therefore our Group Operational Risk Management team is looking for reinforcement of an experienced operational risk manager.

You will join an enthusiastic, diverse team, that's a sound mix of young and experienced professionals. As a team, we take ownership over the group level operational risk methodology, including the groupwide framework, the risk and control standards and the implementation thereof. We collaborate closely with the local risk functions of KBC entities, as well as our colleagues from Information Security, Compliance, Model Risk, etc.

• You contribute to the development of an effective operational risk framework with respect to existing and evolving processes, and also for new trends and innovations. You analyse evolutions and the impact of trends and innovations on the risk profile of KBC. Based on these analyses, you develop new ideas for better risk management.
• You conduct in-depth investigations of the root causes of specific risk events. You detect risk signals, analyse insights and establish links between different domains, risk types and evolutions.
• You regularly (or ad-hoc) present to senior management the evolution of the risk profile of entities and processes of the group.
• You collaborate with colleagues to engineer a control framework and risk policies and to develop an appropriate yet simple methodology for emerging risks.
• Together with your colleagues in local risk functions, you assess and optimize the effectiveness of our risk management approach.
