Managing the Finance department, including managing and controlling the resources available in order to give timely and accurate insight into the management of the financial activities which contribute to the realization of the business objectives. The Head of Finance reports directly to the General Manager. Head of Finance is a member of the Sandoz Management Team (SMT).

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
MANAGING the Finance function by:
- Establishing financial plans per department and determining their objectives accordingly;
- Creating an accurate, timely and complete reporting;
- Reporting on a regular basis to all internal and external stakeholders;
- Issuing the periodic balance sheet;
- Drafting financial statements, including a provision statement;
- Establishing and issuing the annual reports, including statutory;
- Establishing and monitoring budgets;
- Managing (financial) systems and modules;
- Cash management, cash flow reporting;
- Negotiating and maintaining good contact with the wholesalers and key accounts
- Management representative to local Workers Council
MONITORING the compliance of the defined (financial) processes by:
- Checking financial data and close collaboration with external auditors
- Authorizing and providing payment and debit orders;
- Adequately handling reported deviances;
- Issuing and submitting the annual accounts;
- Monitoring the financial architecture and keeping the accounting records up to date
- Administrative organization, such as drafting & implementing guidelines and procedures with customers and suppliers regarding payments etc.
- Close contact with the different departments on budgets, information provision, coordination, processes, etc.;
- Close contact with the different departments to ensure sustainable processes and audit (pre-)remediation
- Having close contact with Novartis concerning financial issues and guidelines, including the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports, SAP, etc.;
- Having various external interactions with, for example, the tax authorities, banks, external advisors, accountant services, wholesalers and key accounts
- Adhoc projects to safeguard profitability and efficient use of company funds
LEADING the Finance department by:
- Developing knowledge, skills and insights compliant with Novartis values and behaviors.
- Responsible for formulating, planning, organizing and coordinating the
departmental financial activities so that accurate and timely insight about the organization's operations can be obtained at any time.
- Conducting performance and assessment discussions with the finance team, as well as
determining training needs and setting of development plans
- Monitoring the implementation of the guidelines for the Information Governance Management (IGM), Novartis Emergency Management (NEM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM)
