Job Description


We are looking for a PhD student to join our team!

In this graduate internship position, you will initiate the design development execution and implementation of scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of computing communication technology and manufacturing and new business opportunity.

Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7 years prior to landing on a product roadmap.

Plan and execute laboratory research. Maintain substantial knowledge of the state-of-the art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in the development of intellectual property.

May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing research in the area of Homomorphic Cryptography, Theory and Applications proposing scalable solutions and building SW/HW prototypes to demonstrate feasibility of concepts and technical solutions.

The ideal candidate should exhibit behavioral traits that indicate strong communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, show initiative identify and drive closure of technical issues towards maturing research vectors, as well as present complex issues with clarity to drive decisions.


Qualifications


Who are we looking for?

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or Mathematics with a focus on theory and applications of cryptography

  • One or more publications on cryptography in a peer reviewed conference/journal


  • 2+ years experience on the construction of cryptosystems and protocols base on lattice constructions lattice based cryptography applications and cryptanalysis


  • 2+ years experience developing software prototypes with Python C C Java or other languages such as Mathematica or Matlab.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience with the application of privacy preserving cryptographic techniques to applications domains including but not limited to machine learning is a big plus


  • 1+ years experience with other postquantum cryptography families eg hash based signatures code based isogeny or multivariate quadratic cryptography is a big plus.

Work Model for this Role


This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
