We are hiring a Divisional Industry Controller for Bakery Products .

About Vandemoortele

Vandemoortele is a leading European food group that manufactures and sells high-quality food products. Vandemoortele has two business lines; one in frozen bakery products and one in margarines, culinary oils and fats.

In Margarines, Culinary Oils & Fats(=MCOF), Vandemoortele targets European professional users with a broad portfolio of products that combine processability, taste and flavour, as well as European retailers with private label margarines and frying fats. In addition, Vandemoortele has a number of strong consumer brands in the Benelux such as Vandemoortele®, Alpro® and Diamant®

In Bakery Products(=BP), Vandemoortele offers throughout Europe a wide range of frozen bread products, pastry, sweet treats, patisserie and savoury products for professional users in the bakery and foodservice channels as well as for retailers, who appreciate the quality and convenience of Vandemoortele’ s products.

In 2021, Vandemoortele realized a turnover of ca 1,3 billion euro. The Group is present in 12 European countries with 4,600 employees. The Vandemoortele headquarters are located in Ghent, Belgium.

The objectives of the role as Divisional Industry Controller for Bakery Products are:

Accountable for the reporting with regards to Actuals, Forecast, Latest Estimate, Budget and Strategic Plan for the Bakery Products plants

Responsible for the setup, coordination, and proper execution of the budget process for the BP plants

Accountable for the analysis of the results of the BP plants

Responsible for the CAPEX within BP

Your key responsibilities and challenges are:
You coordinate the management reporting of all BP plants;

You identify the risks and potentials that impact the plant result;

You analyze and benchmark comparable sites;

Be the center of expertise by developing new insights / reports / KPI’s (via Power BI) that give a clear and understandable view on the plant performance;

You steer the different planning cycles (Budget, LE and Strategy) of the plants;

You track, challenge and evaluate investments made related to efficiency and/or capacity;

You follow up and monitor improvement programs;

You take the lead in improving, implementing and managing processes, procedures and internal controls across the different entities of the BL;

You ensure a good cooperation and active participation within the plant controllers community;

You ensure compliance to external reporting standards;

Be involved in ad hoc projects (e.g. acquisitions and integration, scenario building for alternative industrial set up )

In charge of periodic IFRS stock valuation and back up for MCOF

You report directly to the Divisional Controlling Manager BP.

About you:
You hold a master’s degree in Economics and have at least 5 years of experience in a controlling environment, preferably including plant controlling and/or product costing.

Above all you are highly analytical with a flair for numbers and you have a good knowledge and understanding of financial topics.

You are highly flexible, proactive, stress resistant and result oriented.

You are eager to learn and to further grow within the organization.

You have strong organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and attention to detail.

You are a team player, you have a hands-on mentality and a high degree of integrity.

You are genuinely interested in the business and its markets.

You have excellent knowledge of MS Office.

Knowledge of SAP, SAP BW and PowerBI is an advantage.

You have a good knowledge of financial topics.

You are pragmatic, problem-solving and take initiative.

You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in English and French/Dutch.

You are willing to travel within Europe (short trips).

Substantial presence in the HQ in Ghent is required
