Customs Declarant | Machelen Brucargo | late shift 12h - 20h - Adecco - Brabant Flamand

Our client is an international logistics company at Brucargo. We are looking for a Customs Declarant to prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods. This is done by initially checking for correctness and completeness of the data provided by the customer.

Your main tasks:

• Classifying goods according to tariff coding system.
• Preparing and processing import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, procedures.
• Paying, or arranging for payment of, taxes and duties on shipments.
• Signing documents on behalf of clients, using powers of attorney.
• Calculating duty and tariff payments owed on shipments.
• Being aware of any changes in import/export laws or regulations.
• Requesting/compiling necessary import documentation (invoices, certificates, …)
• Advising customers on import/export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance, …
• Obtaining documents to authorize activities and tracing the goods.
• Maintaining relationships with customs brokers in other ports to expedite clearing of cargo.
• Preparing regulatory or compliance documentation.

Profiel

• You have good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
• You have knowledge of customs legislation, import/export documents, certificates, …
• You know how to calculate customs values correctly.
• You have knowledge of the AEO concept, excise duties procedures, sensitive goods, FAVV obligations is a plus.
• You have knowledge and experience with trade and logistics processes.

Aanbod

You will have a permanent contract immediately.
Your salary is negotiable, depending on your experience.
