Fund Distribution Compliance Officer - Brussels

My global brokerage client is looking for a senior standalone Compliance Officer to join their compliance team focusing on setting up and managing the compliance for their newly acquired Fund distributor. The role's core duty will be to set up the governance framework around the newly acquired function and align it effectively to current policy and procedures where possible, dealing with the compliance issues that arise from the integration. The role will also require the hands-on management of the fund compliance areas, most notably the distribution.

As a Compliance Officer with funds industry expertise, dedicated to the fund integration the primary responsibility will be to provide general advisory integration support related to various compliance domains, such as AML/Sanctions, Market Abuse, Business Conduct, MiFID, Conflict of Interest, Complaints Handling, Transaction Reporting, and Personal Data Protection.

The role will include the delivery of compliance advice for any of the integration compliance deliverables, following an integration compliance roadmap, working closely with current Compliance SMEs from both sides of the integration.

The Team

Although this will effectively be a standalone position with regards to the fund experience, you will be part of a wider team of senior compliance advisory professionals who will predominantly focus on advisory within the regulatory space.

The Role

Proven solid experience in the financial services sector preferably gained in a compliance advisory team of a financial institution, a regulatory authority or a consultancy firm.

Experience in the investment funds industry.

Proven knowledge of all or several of the compliance domains in scope of this role.

Quantifiable experience delivering high quality work, in an autonomous, timely, pragmatic manner.

Demonstrated experience in interpreting, advising on or monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements

Fluent in English (and ideally French)
