About our Support Functions

What you will be doing
As Communication Manager you follow closely the strategic objectives and decisions of Umicore and the Management Team Site Olen and translate them into an internal and external communication approach for the site! By organising targeted employee activities and supporting employee communication, you contribute to the involvement and engagement of our employees. You lead and guide the communication team.
Your detailed responsibilities
* Develop and implement a communication strategy, both internally and externally.
* Act as a communication advisor and provide essential communication advice to management on important and critical communication challenges and issues
* Crafting and organising activities and communication campaigns for and with staff that support strategic objectives and decisions
* Lead and improve the image and communication of the Olen site and its BUs, both internally and externally
* Ensure crisis preparedness of the Olen site to protect Umicore's image and act as spokesperson.
Who we are looking for
* You have a Master's degree (or equivalent through experience) in a communication related discipline
* You have at least 3 years of working experience in a communication or other relevant environment (e.g. communication agency) preferably in a production/industrial company
* You are a creative designer and organiser of employee events
* You are a good communicator with excellent presentation, writing and persuasive skills and digital savvy
* You are able to communicate comfortably with many different stakeholders and at different levels, both inside and outside the organisation
* You have confirmed experience in coaching people and leading a team
* You have excellent skills in project management and organisational change
* You speak and write perfect Dutch and English
