Job Description

We are looking for a Category Manager Belgium, who will be part of the Benelux Consumer Business and will be based in Diegem (Belgium). You will be responsible for translating insights out of analysis into category management strategies which deliver growth to the KC sales results and customer category objectives.

This role reports to the Go To Market Leader and is an individual contributor (no direct reports).

Location: we provide a flexible office attendance.

Your Key Accountabilities
  • Analyze the performances of the categories and of the brands, and pro-actively provide recommendations to improve results
  • Determine and implement Trade strategies in agreement with the Key Account Manager and the Marketing team by working on the different category levers (assortment, promotion, merchandising, ...)
  • Define clear and actionable Category Strategies to be presented internally and to the Retail - in line with our Brand strategies
  • Co-pilot Customers Plans together with the Key Account Manager (and recommend corrective actions)
  • Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with customers through the presentation of inspirational objective insights which deliver customer category growth.
  • Become the Category expert and build persuasive and insightful presentations to be shared internally and to our retail partners - communicate and activate the category vision and its growth drivers
  • Work together in multi-functional teams on category & brand strategies.
  • Present internally the latest category developments in commercial meetings and business reviews.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate has:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an FMCG environment, preferably in the Category Management department
  • Strong analytical skills, with a strong sense for synthesis
  • Ability to derive actionable insights out of information & analysis
  • Perfect knowledge of the MS office package - knowledge of multiple source data (i.e. Nielsen, GFK, qual/quant research) and space planning software is a strong asset
  • Very well organized and able to set the right priorities
  • Ability to build working relationships across functional areas
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Has a commercial drive and a proactive nature
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or French with an excellent level of English.
