The digitalisation of the construction industry is irreversible and presents excellent opportunities. As BIM specialist, you will work on challenging, multidisciplinary (complex) projects. It is a dynamic and varied job that offers room for individual initiative, whereby you will work within a team on different projects in the various stages of the construction process.
During the tendering stage, you are responsible for preparing and analysing the BIM model, to which you then link a project plan and phasing.
During the work preparation stage, you facilitate the collaboration between the various disciplines (subcontractors). You implement the BIM protocol at project level (e.g. setting out modelling rules, determining communication methods and frequency, drawing up exchange protocols). You monitor quality control and perform detailed checking of quantities.
During the implementation stage you are responsible for the technical coordination of the model. To this end, you collect models, conduct a clash detection, propose solutions (together with the work planners). You assist the site team with all BIM-related items (follow-up of produced quantities and drawing up progress reports, data collection with regard to set-offs, preparation of BIM as-built, etc.).
Profile
You are an analytical, driven and communicative person who is capable of persuading others to adopt your ideas regarding the use of BIM. You preferably have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and have knowledge of the BIM software. In addition, you have experience in and a good understanding of modelling, thorough knowledge of REVIT, as well as notions of other BIM software. You are able to exchange the models and have a sound knowledge of coordination software (model-checker: Solibri and/or Navisworks). Knowledge of the VICO calculation program is a definite advantage. You master both national languages (Dutch/French). Considering that, as BIM specialist, you first build in a virtual world what is later realised in the real world, knowledge and experience of the construction process is an added plus.
