Kennedys is seeking an "Avocat/Advocaat" to join its litigation, regulatory and commercial practice in Brussels.

Team

Our team in Brussels work on complex litigation (including international arbitrations), commercial transactions and regulatory issues. The Brussels office's expertise in insurance, aviation and transportation matters is recognized in Belgium and globally.

Required qualification, experience and skills

  • Belgium Qualified Avocat/Advocaat, able to plead before the Belgian courts.
  • Strong Academics.
  • Interest in insurance litigation and expert proceedings, commercial matters and regulatory issues.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken, writing and speaking). Command of French is desirable.
  • Legal research and drafting skills.
  • Ability to apply a commercial approach to claims in order to deliver economic solutions.
  • To be proactive and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills.
  • Strong technical and research skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Arbitration experience.
  • Experience in the aviation and transportation sectors.
  • To have had previous client contact and attendance at business development events.
